Documents required for foreign passport holders to apply for a group Tibet Entry Permit:
  1. Scanned copies of the passport and visa pages! (Must be clear and complete, with no obstructions.)

  2. Phonetic Chinese name and occupation!

  3. Work certificate from a mainland China workplace, or a visitation certificate for those with a visitation visa (not required for tourist visas)!

  4. Accurate itinerary, dates, and port of entry (Once submitted, changes are not allowed, and the itinerary must be followed as planned).

  5. For those arriving by air, a delivery address is also required for subsequent documents (a Tibet Entry Permit is required for entry into Tibet by air).

  6. Health certificate for those over 65 years old!

  1. Submit documents 20 working days in advance for processing.

  2. The documents required for foreign guests may be adjusted at any time. In such cases, please cooperate by providing any additional documents requested.

Regarding the matters related to the Tibet Travel Permit (Entry Tibet Permit)


1、Who needs to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit for traveling to Tibet:

According to the relevant regulations of the Tibet Autonomous Region, both foreign passport holders and Taiwan compatriots need to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit through a qualified travel agency in Tibet to the Tourism Development Commission of the Tibet Autonomous Region or the Taiwan Affairs Office of the United Front Work Department of the Tibet Autonomous Region. Only after obtaining approval can they purchase air tickets or take other transportation methods to travel to Tibet.


2、Relevant materials required for applying for the Tibet Travel Permit:

Foreign tourists need to provide a valid passport and Chinese L visa. For those with visa types such as F, a certificate from the unit where they work in China is required (format will be provided separately).

Taiwan compatriots need to provide a valid Taiwan Compatriot Permit, visa endorsement, and insurance to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit.

People over 60 years old need to provide a health certificate.

Note: All those who need to apply for the Tibet Travel Permit must follow the pre-arranged itinerary, entry location, and transportation method. Tour guides and tourist bus drivers must also hold relevant qualification certificates to accompany or join the group.



3、Time required for applying for the Tibet Travel Permit:

15 working days. But it is best to reserve 20 working days. This is because there might be delays in the mailing of the Tibet Travel Permit to the tourist's entry city (such as Chengdu, Chongqing, or Xi'an, etc.) after its processing.


4、Special matters:

The documents provided for applying for the Tibet Travel Permit must have sufficient validity. Avoid the situation where the documents provided during the application of the Tibet Travel Permit are valid but become invalid after the processing of the permit, and the tourist changes the documents. If the relevant information of the replaced documents does not match the information provided during the application of the Tibet Travel Permit, it may result in the inability to travel to Tibet.

When applying for the Tibet Travel Permit for a group, it is uniformly approved on one approval document with the full list of the group attached. Therefore, when in the entry city or taking the train, please ensure that the entire group passes through the security check or ticket gate simultaneously. Otherwise, it may result in some tourists being unable to board the plane or take the train due to the absence of the Tibet Travel Permit.

The team leader or tourists should properly keep the Tibet Travel Permit and hand it over to the local tour guide for safekeeping and inspection during the journey after entering Tibet.

Special occupation personnel holding official visas and diplomatic visas (such as journalists, civil servants, military personnel, etc.) are not allowed to sign up for the group tour.


Foreign guests sign up in the pre-registration mode. Official registration can be made only after the Tibet Travel Permit is approved. If the Tibet Travel Permit is rejected due to personal reasons, the deposit will be refunded.
