Applying for a Chinese visa from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) involves several steps. Here's a comprehensive guide to assist you through the process:
Determine the Appropriate Visa Type

Complete the Online Application Form
Since August 1, 2020, applicants are required to fill out the visa application form online via the China Online Visa Application (COVA) system. Access the form here: China Online Visa Application (COVA)

Schedule an Appointment
After completing the online application, book an appointment at the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC) in Dubai. Appointments can be scheduled through the CVASC

Gather Required Documents
Prepare the following documents:
Valid Passport: With at least six months' validity and blank visa pages.
Recent Passport-Sized Photograph: Adhering to Chinese visa photo standards.
Supporting Documents: Depending on visa type, such as an invitation letter for business visas or proof of travel arrangements for tourist visas.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS FOR VISA APPLICATION
Original Passport (Minimum Validity = 6 Months, must have at least 3 blank VISA pages) if you have multiple nationality, please provide all passport you have.
Two Photograph (White background)
Photocopy of Passport, Emirates ID, UAE resident permit, (if UAE resident permit is issued by Abu Dhabi, need to provide tenancy contract shows applicant is staying Dubai (or northern Emirates))
NOC (NO objection letter) of UAE sponsor OR NOC from company if self-sponsor
Invitation letter from China inviter's company (with company letter head, travelling date should be future date)
Round trip flight booking
Hotel booking (check in and check out date should match with flight booking)
Still valid or recent expired China visa or China residency permit (if you have)
Authorization Letter (If any representative is coming for the submission of the documents)
Invitation including
Personal information of the invitee: name, gender, date of birth, passport number, nationality, etc.
Visit information of the invitee: reason for coming to China, date of arrival and departure, place of visit, relationship with the inviting unit or inviter, source of expenses, etc.
Inviting unit or inviter
The checklist for applying L (tourist) visa, only single entry will be issued, processing time is 4 working days at least.
Submit Your Application
Attend your scheduled appointment at the CVASC in Dubai to submit your application and supporting documents. The center's address is:

Pay the Visa Fee
Visa fees vary based on visa type, number of entries, and your nationality. Payment methods and exact fees are detailed on the CVASC website.
Wait for Processing
Processing times generally range from four to ten business days. Expedited services may be available for an additional fee.
Collect Your Visa
Once approved, collect your passport with the visa affixed, either in person or via mail, depending on the submission method.
Important Considerations
Visa-Free Entry for UAE Nationals: Since January 16, 2018, UAE citizens with ordinary passports can enter China visa-free for stays up to 30 days. Ensure your stay does not exceed this period to avoid penalties.
